Throw In (or out) the Towel!
Sometimes they just don't get the hint, so here's a crafty way to spell it out! Our kitchen towel kit comes with everything you need—and it washes so well!
Oh, Jolene, Take My Man—Please!
A timely redo since Beyonce just redid it, too. But this one’s got a little more bite! From Juliet of Very Cross Stitching.
Magic Magnetic Wand!
Attention lazy girls! Finally, a way to pick up the needles, scissors and needle minders scattered around your space--you don't even have to get up!
If you're like me, somehow there are always needles on the floor--this product made me LOL: "From the comfort of your easy chair, you can pick up your dropped needle or scissors with this Magnetic Pick-Up Wand. Extends to 24” and will pick up 10 pounds. Retracts to only 5½” long, so it’s easy to store in your stitching tote or in a drawer by your favorite stitching chair." Who doesn't need that? You can use it to go fishing in your couch for things lost long ago. You can also entertain/annoy pets and/or partners. Endless possibilities, really. Picks up 10 pounds? Boggles the mind! What will YOU pick up?
Aw, It’ll Grow Out!
Also applies to BANGS! Another gem from Juliet!
Pet Helpers Contest Winners!
Winner #1: First of all, look at Odin helping with one of the Lisa Congdon kits we sell. Way to put those teeth to work, Odin!
His dad writes:
We have an addition to our family; Odin came to live with us in November last year. He is soooooo lovable! And every time I crossstitch a story unfolds. First he just lies, twists his head and looks and pleads for cuddles with his eyes. Slowly he sits up straight, looks around and in the end just grabs my stitching hand(s), demanding: pet me NOW!
Winner #2: Meet Georgia, obviously a cross stitch enthusiast (and maybe a little bit of a floss hoarder—she’ll share if you don’t mind claws).
Winner #3: A true fan of our patterns and a terrific model—Cheeto! Hopefully, no Cheeto dust on those paws…
Thank you so much for your submissions, these three will receive a promo code and I’ll also add a blog post this weekend with some of my other favorite entries. It was so hard to choose! They’re all so adorable—-and insistent, right? Gotta be where the action is, 24/7. Here are some of the other entries, all so good!!
We’re in THE PATH
Here in Dallas, we’re in primo eclipse viewing territory. We will NOT be having a viewing party for the public, nor will we be handing out glasses or taking the day off. I’ll probably play with the shadows rather than look at the sky—what if the glasses didn’t work? My cross stitch days would be OVER! These are the ridiculous things my anxiety screams at me ;P. But, really, get your colander ready and check out the shadows, they’re so much fun!
That’s it for this week, see you post-eclipse!
xoxo

p.s. Here are a few links to the things that I’m OBSESSED with this week:
Puppy Yawns! For your daily dopamine surge.
Tourette’s Cat with a hilariously filthy mouth.
Savannah Lynne and MacKenzie Grace & their Stanley cups.
Happy Dog with the flopsy feets.
Shotgun Rider by the excellent @esperborzoi
Also - mom tip - my kids and their pals made a haul!! at a lemonade stand near a prime viewing area up the street. 😉
When we had the eclipse a few years back, the shadows were the best part! And the eerie quiet. And the birds not singing. So, so cool!!!!
